Current Program Offerings in the Community

WSU and Karma​nos - Since 2024, BLARE has partnered with Karmanos Cancer Center and Wayne State University Office of Community Outreach and Engagement  to​ improve digital health literacy for patients and caregiver​​s. Starting Fall 2025, the partnership will provide free technology assistance for patients receiving cancer care to ensure equitable digital access.

Wellness Hubs Pilot - Brilliant Detroit

In partnership with Brilliant Detroit, BLARE will host the Digital Sherpa TM Program as a pilot at six Brilliant Detroit Tech Hubs to improve participants' health and well-being through digital tools. This interactive series of six courses will cover digital basics, benefits of health portals, identifying reliable web resources, and connecting with virtual health communities. The pilot program runs from April to June 2025 at Brightmoor, Cody Rouge, Chandler Park, Morningside, Dexter-Linwood, and Southwest (Virtual) locations. Join us and thrive in your digital health journey!​

Sisters Embracing Sisters- Breast Cancer Mentorship - Sisters Network GMDC

The Sisters Embracing Sisters Mentorship Program has two key aims: to educate individuals diagnosed with breast cancer about available community-based services and to offer personalized, one-on-one support through mentorship. The program pairs experienced members of the Sisters Network Greater Metropolitan Detroit Chapter (SNGM​DC) with participants, offering encouragement, sharing resources, and supporting healthy coping mechanisms throughout the breast cancer journey.​​
